Winter Internships 2026

Spend this winter building a real chess product used by students and coaches. Both internships are remote, start in December 2026 and work directly with the founders.

Internship

Product Management Intern

Help decide what we build next for the Chess Lab, the Shop and ChessDepth AI, and make sure it ships.

What you'll do

  • Talk to students, parents and coaches to understand what they need
  • Turn ideas into clear one-page specs with goals and success measures
  • Plan and prioritise features for the Chess Lab and our training packs
  • Track usage in Google Analytics and report what is working
  • Research other chess and learning platforms for ideas

Who we're looking for

  • Student or recent graduate in any field
  • Clear writing and structured thinking
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets and basic data
  • Interest in chess (you don't need to be a strong player)

Nice to have: Experience with Figma, Notion or basic HTML

Internship

Quality Assurance Intern

Make sure everything we publish works and is correct, from the website and Chess Lab to every puzzle and PDF.

What you'll do

  • Test the website and Chess Lab on phones, tablets and computers
  • Write test cases and report bugs with clear steps to reproduce
  • Check puzzles, solutions and opening lines for chess accuracy
  • Review training packs and worksheets before they are released
  • Re-test fixes and keep a simple quality checklist up to date

Who we're looking for

  • Sharp eye for detail and a methodical way of working
  • Rated around 1400+ online, so you can check solutions with confidence
  • Clear written English
  • Any background is welcome: computer science, engineering or none

Nice to have: Basic experience with automated testing (e.g. Playwright or Selenium)

Deliver high-quality online chess lessons to students of all levels, with personalised training plans and progress tracking.

Requirements

  • FIDE rated or equivalent strong playing strength
  • Proven coaching experience with positive student feedback
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable internet connection and a suitable teaching set-up

Marketing Specialist

Full-time · Remote / Hybrid

Plan and run marketing that brings in new students, across social media, email and content.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in digital marketing, ideally in education
  • Strong understanding of SEO, ads and social media
  • Excellent writing and creative thinking
  • A passion for chess is a plus
